Favorite Destinations Student Picks: Lana Elmore

In the Study Abroad department, we are always curious which countries or cities our students love the most or would like to travel to.

This time, we aske study abroad alumni Lana Elmore and she did not hesitate to tell us that her favorite destination is was hands down ...

BALI!!

Lana went on our Bali program with Michelle Paddack in the fall of 2023 and recently got to go again in the fall 2024!

What's so fascinating about Bali? Lana really loves the rich food, the culture, the kind people and the beautiful scenery and sights. She recommends that if you get the chance, visit Ubud for the shopping, Uluwatu for the sights and views, Pemuteran, Amed and Candidasa for the local vibes and Nusa Lembongan for the local island feels and manta ray sightings!

Something unexpected Lana learned about Bali is how much religion influences the way the Balinese act toward each other and toward tourists. According to Lana, the locals are truly special people who are incredibly loving, generous and hospitable.

I don't know about you, but I'm ready to pack my bags and book a flight to Bali!
