My favorite destination is undoubtedly the magnificent city of Florence, Italy. Every corner, every street, every stone tells a story, it’s one of those places that feels like stepping into a living museum.

Makayla arrives in Rome for a semester abroad. Learning about a new culture with limited language skills and tired from travel has been an adjustment.

A few months ago, a friend shared with me his anxiety about moving to another state for school. He was thrilled to attend his dream university but also afraid of not fitting in, of being far from everything familiar and feeling lonely. Since I’ve lived far from home several times, he asked for my advice. My name is Marine. I’m a full-time student at Santa Barbara City College, and I’m from France.

As this chapter is soon coming to an end this week, there are little words and big emotions when reflecting on the last 10 weeks abroad.

The group moved on from London to Paris and Savannah is exploring, enjoying and appreciating the European lifestyle, art and culture.

It has been three weeks since beginning this trip to London and every day I am faced with both amazing changes and challenges of this still unfamiliar world surrounding me. To my surprise the city of London is quite literally the largest city I have ever encountered.

As the days creep closer to this new adventure abroad, my mind begins to race with both anticipation and nerve. In the upcoming days a whole new world will have just opened up for myself and the other students included. I think anyone on this journey could possibly agree the level of excitement exceeds expectations and what words can describe.
