Spring has come and gone, and the students who embarked on the SBCC Rome and Paris Film Studies Program have returned home. After spending three months abroad, the irreplaceable memories they made will carry them through the rest of their lives. Ready to take on any challenge, they are taking their new perspectives, friendships, language skills, and more to their next journey, off to a new College, into the job world, or back on the SBCC campus to share with their new classmates. To commemorate their fantastic adventure, SBCC Professor Michael Stinson and student Nicole Montague have been cataloging their experience through photos and videos. Riding on the wave of excitement from this program, applications are now open for the upcoming Rome Program Santa Barbara City College offers in the Spring 2018 semester: Creative Writing Literature, Psychology, and Italian Language. This program is also open to students enrolled with other colleges and universities. More information and the program application is available here.
All interested students are also encouraged to apply for the ACCENT Community College Scholarship, which offers awards of up to $3,000 towards the program fee and/or group flight. More information about the ACCENT Community College Scholarship and Spring 2018 application can be found here.
Beginning with its first community college partnerships in California in 1991, ACCENT has continued to offer affordable short-term and semester-length custom study abroad programs designed to meet the unique academic needs of the community college population. Through these efforts, ACCENT has enabled over 8,000 students from more than 25 U.S. community colleges to study abroad over the past 25 years.
