Travel Playlist - Indonesia

A small house in a farm in Indonesia

The previous year we went to Bali, Indonesia. This fall 2024 you’ll have the opportunity to go there again and visit this beautiful country! The music is incredibly culturally rich, but also simultanously super pop-oriented as well.

Today, in part of my Travel Playlist blog series, I’ll talk about the music of Indonesia and go in-depth about the songs that peaked my interest by Indonesian artists, or songs that reminds me of the country.

Curious what you can possibly listen to in Bali? Let’s start with the list!

For the playlist, I was informing myself about the more popular tracks in Indonesia and came across the Indonesian artist Nadhif Basalamah. His track “Penjaga Hati” is melancholy and beautiful.

The same goes with Anggi Marito’s track “Tak Segampang Itu”. Another very popular song by an Indonesian artist. Another track that also gains power the longer the song goes.

The last track is again an Indonesian pop song “Komang” by Raim Laode. The delicate guitar playing and his voice are incredibly pleasant. The song always finds ways to surprise with its sounds and production.

The next time you’re on the plane for your study abroad trip this playlist will accommodate you for the specific country to travel to. (Disclaimer: There will be songs that are associated with a particular country, but are not strictly in their language.)
